Have you thought about Christmas lately? Neither have I. I was thinking about this on my way into the church and wondered why. In Matthew’s account, the wise men from the East came to worship the newborn king. Given the distance and methods of transportation in the ancient Near East, the wise men would not have arrived the same night as Jesus’ birth. At a minimum, it would have been several months later.
So here we are just over thirty days after Christmas and it’s almost forgotten. In the hustle and bustle of life nowadays it’s easy to move on. But I would encourage you to take some time, slow down and think about the peace which is offered to us in Christ Jesus. We can all use some time to just sit and listen to the world around us. God is speaking to us and if you’re busy running about, it’s exceptionally difficult to hear God talking. So take some time and listen. You might be surprised by what you hear.
This blog consists of reflections written by the minister each week for the Sunday bulletin. We hope that you enjoy the musings!
